Who: Alice and Lily
When: November 14th, late night
Where: Gryffindor Common Room
Why: Late night snacks and girl talk!
Rating: PG

Today had been a good day for Alice. All of her classes had gone well and she had only gotten a small amount of Charms work. She was in a good mood and was waiting for Lily to come back from rounds. She hoped Lily was feeling a little better from after the Halloween disaster and figured that Lily's suggestion for the late night snackage would take away their troubles for at least a little bit. Food tended to have that almost magic like quality about it.

As her rounds went fairly well, only having to send a Ravenclaw back to his dorm because he "accidently" left his book in a classroom. Lily was in a good enough mood she wasn't about to get him detention. As the portrait door swung open with the saying of the password, Lily headed into the Common with a tote filled with cookies, brownies, blondies, and other treats. "I hope you don't mind I left the treacle tarts behind." She said upon seeing Alice in the common room.

Alice turned to watch Lily walk in with the food. She let out a short laugh and smiled, "Don't worry! I've never liked treacle tarts much." She snuggled into her seat more waiting for Lily to join her in a seat nearby. "How were rounds?"

"No problem there then." Lily said as she plopped down in a seat and made herself comfortable. Putting the small bag of treats on the table between them, she reached and began to take everything out. "Rounds went well. Didn't really find anyone, normally don't. It's just a precautionary measure of course." Lily said with a brownie in one hand and a sugar cookie in another and held both up to Alice.

Alice plucked the brownie out of Lily's hand and nodded her head in thanks. She munched on the brownie happily enjoying the delicious taste of it. "Mm. That's good," She said in response to Lily's answer. "So, what's going on?" Alice asked in attempt to strike up conversation.

Taking a bite of cookie that remained in her hand, Lily smiled in agreement. "Mmm, nothing too much. I suppose you may call me mad if I told you if I was already preparing for the O.W.L.s" She said with a small smirk and another bite. Covering her mouth with her hand, she continued. "Just for organizational reasons of course."

"Not mad at all! I started in the very beginning of the year too," She smiled taking another bite of her brownie, "It was worth it. I needed those grades!" The brownie was now almost finished. To Alice it was currently the most dandelions food she had ever eaten. But that could have been because she was starving.

"It does make the most sense." She said pushing the bag of treats closer to Alice. "I just don't understand those who wait till it's nearly the end to start studying. Let alone those who think they'll pass without doing so." Smiling lightly, Lily had another thought. "We need tea or hot cocoa."

Alice grabbed a cookie and took a bit of it. She nodded her head in agreement with Lily at the studying bit. "Hot cocoa sounds good. I've missed drinking it since last winter!"
